About Us
We have always had the dream of owning and operating our own business. After leaving our lives behind, quitting our jobs, selling our home, and renovating a a large motorhome into a tiny cottage on wheels we hit the open road. After exploring a few areas we broke down in Black Mountain NC, choosing to live there for a year, we made friends with some folks from Rutherfordton. We then decided to to move to Rutherfordton, NC in early 2022 to be a part of this wonderful Small-town Friendly Community.
We very quickly noticed an intense need for a breakfast establishment beyond the chains and fast food being offered locally. We decided we were unwilling to wait for a cafe with healthy options, providing a true experience, in a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere to open in our new Western NC neighborhood. So, when the opportunity arose for us to sign the lease on our building in October of 2022, we seized it and worked diligently to develop Maples on Main-Local Café.

We ordered the fatty burrito, Dans “too thick” French toast, mother clucker hot sandwich, candied bacon biscuit.
Everything was delish. Especially the Hot chicken sandwich. Bakery cookie was also amazing and soft as well as the coffees. We got the white chocolate mocha. 5/5

This place was amazing! We went here this past July and it was so good! The food was wonderful! Best waffles ever. The owner was so nice he asked us how our food was and was super friendly! He even took our picture for us:) The restaurant was beautiful.

So, my wife and I frequent Maples on Main often and absolutely LOVE this place. Rutherfordton needed a cafe like this in their town. I went in this morning and got takeout for the first time and wow!!! Super-fast service and just like dining in, everyone had smiling faces and was so friendly.
